Lights Out

Look! A whole day, with no appointments, or plans, or interviews! Amazing!

(Of course, the kids and I have ruined a perfectly good, useless day by getting up and going shopping already, with plans for housecleaning later… but we could have while the day aimlessly away.)

I’m beyond exhausted right now; a combination of stress, an unsuccessful conversation with Willem, anxiety and who knows what-all left me wide awake until 6:00 in the morning. I was able to catch bits and pieces of sleep until 8:00, and have now reached that vaguely dreamlike state that tells me, “No more errands involving the car today.”

So, not much to see here. Which is good, because it’s Earth Hour day around the globe, so go ahead and turn off your non-essential electricity for the hour between 8:30-9:30 this evening. It’s not much, but everything has to start somewhere…

  1. We are definitely doing this! We did it last year and my kids really enjoyed it. We made taco dip for the occasion. We lit candles and sat around talking awhile, then went for a walk to see if we could see anyone else sitting in the dark. lol Then, we came home and pigged out on taco dip, perfect ending! I think we left everything off an extra half hour, just because. 🙂

  2. I couldn’t figure out what time to participate, guess it doesn’t matter at least you do it and make some type of effort. But shoot, 8:30-9:30pmwill be easy for me the kids are in bed here by 8pm. Might have to sit out by the pool with a nice drink tonight and have some grown up conversation. 😉
